| Descrizione del dritto | The obverse is divided into three vertical panels against a tan and olive-green ground. The left and right panels each carry the denomination numeral '50' above the word 'Pfennig' in bold Gothic lettering, flanked by decorative borders of white roses on green foliage. The central panel contains an oval vignette framed by a wreath of white roses, enclosing a rebus puzzle (Bilderrätsel) composed of pictographic symbols with the caption 'Preisrätsel Zeile 5' below. To the upper right of the central panel the date 'Frose d. 27.6.21' and the issuing authority 'Der Gemeindevorstand' appear above a manuscript signature, while the bottom margin bears the serial number and the inscription 'Frose – i Anhalt' in ornate script. |

Frose is a small village in the Anhalt region, and this note is a product of the Notgeld wave that swept German municipalities between 1919 and 1922 — a period when chronic coin shortages, caused by the public hoarding of metal during and after the war, forced even the smallest communities to print their own emergency fractional currency. Louis Koch in Halberstadt was a regional printer who handled Notgeld commissions for numerous localities across the area, making his output prolific but rarely documented in detail.
W. Dockhorn's designer credit appears on many Anhalt-region issues from this period.
