| Obverse description | Printed in dark green and cream on plain paper, the obverse carries the bold Gothic-style heading 'Notgeld d. Stadt Holzminden' at top, with the large numeral '50' set within a solid green square panel at left. To the right, the denomination 'Pfennig' is rendered in decorative Art Nouveau lettering with an ornamental initial. A two-line text states that the note is accepted by the Stadtkasse, and a validity clause along the lower margin reads 'Er verliert seine Gültigkeit a. 1. Mai 1922', followed by the facsimile signature of Der Rat d. Stadt. The printer's imprint 'Druck: Gebrüder Jänecke, Hannover' appears in small type at the very bottom. |
