Neusalz an der Oder — now Nowa Sól in western Poland — was a Silesian textile town whose municipal savings bank issued notgeld during the severe coin shortage that gripped Germany from around 1916 onward. Carl Flemming & T. C. Wiskott in nearby Glogau was one of the more active regional printers for Silesian emergency currency, supplying multiple municipalities across the province rather than the better-known Berlin or Leipzig houses.
