Triebes was a small industrial town in the Reuss principality, absorbed into Thuringia only a year before this note appeared. The issuer — the Stadtgemeinde, not a bank — reflects how thoroughly the 1919–1921 Kleingeldersatz crisis devolved responsibility for small-change provision onto municipalities, factories, and even private businesses when the Reichsbank could not keep coins in circulation.

Künstlerpresse Dresden was an art press, not a commercial banknote printer, and that choice shows in notes of this series — the production values exceed what most comparable Notgeld commands.
