背面描述 The reverse is divided into three vertical panels within a decorative rope-twist border, with the denomination numeral '50' repeated in the upper corners. The wide central vignette, signed by the artist E. Heise, presents a view of the local village church with a red-tiled roof and tower set among trees, rendered in a folkloristic watercolour style. The left panel contains a figure of a man in 19th-century rural dress and top hat, while the right panel shows a woman in traditional regional costume with a striped cape; a three-part motto in Gothic script runs along the lower edge.
背面铭文 Die gute
Mit Gott freie, ohne Gott Knechte
alte Zeit

备注

Wasserleben is a small village in the Harz district, and like hundreds of similarly sized German municipalities in 1921, it issued its own Notgeld partly out of necessity — the postwar coin shortage was acute — and partly because the Notgeld craze had by then become a genuine collecting phenomenon, with municipalities printing attractive small-denomination notes knowing philatelists would absorb the surplus. A. W. Zickfeldt in Osterwieck was a regional printer well-positioned to serve these Harz-area communities, handling multiple local issues during the period.

Designer E. Heise is credited on the series — an unusual transparency for Notgeld of this scale.
