A joint issue between two neighboring Westerwald district administrations — Altenkirchen and Waldbröl — which is itself unusual. Most Notgeld was issued by individual municipalities or a single Kreisausschuss; coordinated inter-district issues at this denomination level were uncommon and suggest the two administrations faced the same coin shortage simultaneously and chose to pool the printing order rather than run separate series.

Carl Schleicher & Schüll in Düren were primarily a filter paper manufacturer who pivoted to Notgeld printing during the 1919–1922 emergency currency period. Their output was voluminous but consistent in quality.
