Beschrijving keerzijde The reverse is dominated by a large oval vignette executed in fine letterpress line engraving, set against a salmon-coloured border with the denomination numeral '50' repeated in each corner. The vignette presents a panoramic riverside view of the Oder harbour entrance at Neusalz, with a steam vessel moored to the right bank, a boathouse and tall flagpole to the left, foliage-lined banks, a bridge in the middle distance, and the town's church steeple rising against a clouded sky. The caption 'Hafeneinfahrt' is inscribed in Gothic script below the oval frame.

Opmerkingen

Neusalz an der Oder — today's Nowa Sól in Lower Silesia — issued this Notgeld through its municipal magistrate during the currency chaos that followed the First World War. Carl Flemming & Wiskott in Glogau was a natural choice: the combined firm had deep regional roots and printed Notgeld for numerous Silesian municipalities during this period.

The Silesian borderlands changed hands repeatedly across the twentieth century, which is why Glogau is now Głogów and Neusalz is Nowa Sól. The printer no longer exists in any form.
