Obverse description The obverse is printed in multicolour letterpress and carries the issuer's name 'Stadt Perleberg' in bold Gothic script across the upper field. Denomination vignettes appear at upper left and right corners, each comprising an octagonal red panel bearing '50 Pf' in black, set within a blue decorative frame with ornamental scrollwork. The central vignette presents an open leather purse spilling coins onto a surface, with a schematic panorama of the Perleberg townscape and church spire in the background to the right, accompanied by the Gothic-script inscription 'Es war einmal'; the lower panel bears the validity clause, serial number, the city arms shield in colour, and a manuscript signature for 'Der Magistrat'.

Reverse description The reverse is printed in monochrome brown-black and is dominated by a finely executed intaglio-style vignette of a Perleberg street scene, with cobblestone pavement, a cast-iron gas lamp at left, timber-framed houses, and the tall Gothic spire of St. Jacobi church rising at right against a cross-hatched sky. A header band at the top carries Low German dialect numerals '2' at each corner flanking the motto 'wer den het der helt em fast' in Gothic lettering, while a footer band at the bottom bears the inscription 'In Flammen aufgegangen' in bold Gothic script.
