| Obverse description | Blue-toned note printed on cream paper, centred with the circular civic seal of Ettenheim enclosed within a laurel wreath, the seal bearing a vignette of the city gate flanked by towers and surrounded by the Latin legend of the town seal. The denomination '50' appears in large Gothic numerals at upper left and upper right, with the issue date '1.
