| Obverse description | Yellow-ground Notgeld note with a bold black Gothic-script header reading 'Amt Neustadt i/M.' flanked by two red circular medallions bearing the denomination '50' and 'Pfg' respectively. The lower half carries a humorous polychrome vignette signed 'HEINBERG', showing a procession of armed frogs marching left along a marsh bank while a white stork at right catches one of them mid-air, with a scroll cartouche in the centre containing a German verse in black Gothic lettering. Validity text and the issuing authority's manuscript signature appear above the vignette, dated April 1922. |
