Obverse description Brown-toned note printed in letterpress on light paper, dominated by a large vignette of an ancient oak tree rendered in fine woodcut style, its massive gnarled trunk and spreading canopy filling the upper two-thirds of the design. The denomination '50 PFENNIG' appears in large bold numerals and letters across the centre, with the '0' formed as a distinctive open cartouche. Below, a framed text panel carries a Low German verse in Gothic script. A validity notice and the issuing authority appear at the top within a ruled cartouche, accompanied by two manuscript facsimile signatures.
Obverse lettering Gültig im Geldverkehr innerhalb des Stadtgebietes bis zum 31. Mai 1922.

50 PFENNIG
Ick weit einen Eikbom,
de steiht an de See,
De Nurdstorm, de brus't in sin Knäst,
Stolz reckt hei de mächtige Kron' in de Höh,
So is dat all dusend Johr west,
Kein Minschenhand, — De hett em plant't,
Hei reckt sick von Pommern bet Nedderland.
Reverse description Brown-toned reverse printed in letterpress, with a curling wave-pattern guilloche border framing the entire field. A detailed architectural vignette of the Penzlin town church is rendered in woodcut style at centre, showing the stepped-roof structure with a clock tower and surrounding outbuildings set among foliage. The large denomination numerals and script '50 Pfennig' occupy the upper portion above the vignette. Below the church scene, the inscription 'REUTERGELD' appears in capital letters, with the town name 'PENZLIN' in large bold display lettering across the lower margin.
