| Opmerkingen |
Zörbig is a small town in Saxony-Anhalt, and like hundreds of similarly sized German municipalities in 1921, it issued its own emergency currency — Notgeld — to address the acute coin shortage that followed the First World War. The H. Schiebel print shop in nearby Bitterfeld handled production for several local issuers in the region, which is why the presswork on these small-denomination notes tends to be competent rather than the elaborate artistic Notgeld produced by larger printers chasing the collector market.
The reference suffix "a-9/10" suggests this belongs to a paired issue — two notes sharing a common series designation, a common practice among municipal issuers filing under a single authorization.
