Obverse description The left half of the note is occupied by the municipal coat of arms of Greußen within an ornate cartouche: a rampant lion on a divided shield surmounted by a mural crown, flanked by decorative foliate scrollwork. To the right, a large grey underprint numeral '50' dominates the background, over which Gothic script text states the validity clause. Denomination numerals '50' appear in the upper corners, and a red serial number with asterisk is printed at lower right alongside the facsimile signature of the Magistrat.
