备注

Hameln issued this Notgeld piece during the hyperinflationary spiral that made small-denomination coinage effectively worthless by 1921 — municipal authorities across Germany were printing their own emergency currency simply to keep local commerce functional. Hameln leaned into its most bankable asset: the Pied Piper legend. The series was produced by Appelhans in Braunschweig, a printer that handled considerable Notgeld work for Lower Saxony municipalities during this period.

The .2a-2/6 suffix in the DeNG reference indicates this is one of several color or text variants within the 566 series — collectors should verify the specific printing against the full Grabowski-Mehl listings, as Hameln issued an unusually large number of thematic variants.
