Obverse description The obverse is printed in yellow-ochre, black, and sage-green on white paper, with a perforated border imitating a postage stamp. At centre, a heraldic shield bearing the arms of Coblenz — a vertical sword surmounted by a crown — is superimposed on a cross motif, with the large numeral '50' on either side of the sword. Decorative floral guilloche panels occupy the upper corners, flanked by two black cartouches inscribed 'PFENNIG' at mid-left and mid-right; below the shield the word 'NOTGELD' appears in bold lettering, with validity text and the issuing authority 'Der Oberbürgermeister' at lower left and right respectively.
