Nörenberg — today Ińsko in northwestern Poland — was one of hundreds of small Pomeranian towns that issued emergency scrip during the 1921 inflationary surge, well before the hyperinflation of 1923 made such notes almost universal. The Görlitzer Nachrichten und Anzeiger was a newspaper and printing house in Görlitz that took on substantial Notgeld contracts during this period, producing issues for municipalities across eastern Germany.
Robert Koge's involvement as designer is the only detail that distinguishes this from purely functional municipal printing.
