| Description de l’avers | Printed in dark brown on ochre-yellow paper, the obverse is divided into three vertical registers. The left vignette contains a stylised Luther rose with a cross at centre, rendered in bold woodcut style; the right vignette shows a sunburst wheel ornament. The large Gothic numeral '50' occupies the central panel within a double-ruled border, flanked below by the issuing text in Fraktur script, the serial number, date 'Erfurt, den 7. April 1921', and a manuscript signature for Der Magistrat, with the printer's imprint 'A. Hanf – Erfurt.' at the foot. |
