| Obverse description | Black and gold letterpress Notgeld voucher within a decorative ruled border, with the legend 'Gutschein der Stadt ETTLINGEN' in bold Gothic lettering across the centre and the denomination 'FÜNFZIG PFENNIGE' below. The upper-left circular vignette carries the city's tower-and-shield arms, while the upper-right medallion contains a figure of Saint George on horseback; the date '19 21' flanks the heading. A gold oval serial-number panel appears at left centre, a facsimile signature within a cartouche inscribed 'DER GEMEINDERAT' at right, and two large numeral '50' medallions occupy the lower corners; the city arms in a wreath of vine leaves fills the lower centre.
