Beschrijving voorzijde The upper left portion of the obverse carries a line-art vignette of an industrial facility — likely a local potash works — with a tall chimney stack, factory buildings, and a grain field in the foreground, rendered in a stylised illustrative hand by artist Wilhelm Ernst. A decorative scroll curves across the centre, partially overlapping the vignette, while the lower left bears a circular medallion with a haloed saint holding a chalice and book, flanked by dates '15' and '75' and a small church. To the right, the denomination '50 Pfs' is set in bold black Fraktur script above the authorisation text 'zahlt die Gemeindekasse von Oldisleben für diesen Notschein, gültig bis 3 Monate nach Aufruf', followed by the issuing authority and date 'd 5. VIII. 1921', with a manuscript signature of the Gemeindevorstand below.

Beschrijving keerzijde The reverse is printed in warm brown and grey tones, dominated by a central arched vignette set within an elaborate Art Nouveau border of scrolling foliage, stylised birds, and floral motifs. The vignette illustrates a rural scene of peasants — men with pitchforks and women — gathered before a half-timbered farmstead, alluding to the local legend of Oldisleben farmers joining Thomas Müntzer's Peasants' War movement. A captioned tablet at the foot of the vignette carries the legend in Fraktur, and the printer's imprint appears below the outer border.
