| Reverse description | Printed in brown and grey tones, the reverse carries a central vignette set within an arched interior scene illustrating Thomas Münzer's arrest, with a figure in bed being confronted by an armed soldier. The central scene is framed by elaborate Art Nouveau-style foliate and floral ornamental borders on all sides, with stylised blossoms in roundels at the corners. A cartouche at the foot of the central arch bears the caption Thomas Müncers Gefangennahme, and the printer's imprint appears at the very bottom margin. |
