| Beschrijving keerzijde | The reverse carries a cream ground with blue lattice underprint and a perforated outer border. A central circular vignette presents a bust portrait of Weiland Magister Gerhard Halepaghen in Renaissance dress, holding a scroll, against a hatched background. To the lower left a circular cartouche reads 'Gutschein der Stadt Buxtehude – 50' with the denomination in bold, and to the lower right a wax-seal vignette bears the inscription 'STIFTUNG IN BUXTEHUDE · HALEPAGHENSCHE' enclosing a prancing horse device. Flanking verses in blue Gothic script honour Halepaghen, with his name and death date '5. April 1485' in large display type at centre; the printer's imprint 'DRUCK: GEBRÜDER JÄNECKE, HANNOVER' appears in the lower margin, and the designer's monogram 'OTHMER' is visible at lower right. |

| Opmerkingen |
Buxtehude's municipal administration issued this note as part of the broader Notgeld wave that followed the severe coin shortage gripping Weimar Germany in the early 1920s. Gebrüder Jänecke in Hannover — a firm with deep roots in German commercial printing and lithography — handled production for numerous municipal authorities across Lower Saxony during this period, which makes attribution straightforward here.
Buxtehude's Notgeld issues are occasionally collected as a regional set. Nothing anomalous is documented for this specific denomination.
