| Obverse description | The obverse is framed by a double-rule border with asterisk ornaments at each corner, printed in black and yellow. At the top, the issuing authority is announced in bold Gothic lettering: 'NOTGELD DER GEMEINDE KÖSTRITZ'. The centre is occupied by three interlocking circular medallions: the dominant central disc bears the denomination '50 PFENNIGE' in white numerals on a dark ground, flanked by two smaller yellow-highlighted roundels containing heraldic vignettes — a heron or stork to the left and a rampant lion to the right. A validity notice in sans-serif capitals runs along the lower margin. |
