Reverse description The reverse is dominated by a finely engraved vignette of the 'Dreiwappenstein,' a historic carved boundary stone of 1717 bearing multiple heraldic shields, set against a forest background with low undergrowth. An upper text panel carries a four-line German verse in Gothic script; at upper left appears the circular badge of the Thüringerwald-Verein with a feathered emblem, and at lower left the circular seal of the Hörschel Schmücke Rennsteig-Verein dated 1896. A caption below the stone vignette identifies the subject in Gothic lettering, and the whole composition is enclosed within the same diamond-motif border used on the obverse.
Reverse lettering Doch auch das Leben weiss den Pfad zu finden,
Was Menschen trennt, das muss sie auch verbinden.
