背面描述 The reverse is printed in blue, green, yellow, and red-brown on cream paper within a double blue border. A two-line Gothic inscription runs across the top, referencing the 1501 betrothal of the Countess of Stotel to Oldenburg. Three vignettes occupy the upper register: at left, a colour scene of a windmill on a hillside with a winding river; in the centre, a large historical illustration in red-brown of mounted knights carrying banners before a church, evoking a medieval procession; at right, the heraldic arms of Amt Stotel — crossed keys above a blue oval bearing a golden lyre and crown. At the bottom, two yellow panels each display '50 Pfennig' in bold numerals, flanking a Low German verse in green script.

备注

Stotel is a small village in Lower Saxony, and like hundreds of German municipalities in 1921, it issued its own emergency currency — Notgeld — as coin shortages and rampant inflation made official small change functionally useless. The issuing authority here is the Gemeinde itself, not a local savings bank or merchant association, which was common at this scale. C. A. Nicolaus of Bremen handled a significant volume of municipal Notgeld contracts across the region during this period, and the presence of a watermark on a note of this denomination is worth noting — many comparable village issues dispensed with security features entirely.
