Obverse description Yellow-green notgeld printed on a yellow underprint with a fine guilloche border in dark green; a central horizontal band in light blue bears the denomination "Fünfzig Pfennig" in Gothic script, flanked by circular green guilloche medallions each carrying the numeral "50". Above the band, the municipal coat of arms of Wurzbach — a white shield charged with a stork — appears between the words "Gutschein über", while the issuing authority "Gemeinde Wurzbach Thüringen" runs in large Gothic lettering across the upper margin. The lower margin carries the date "Wurzbach, am 1. Juli 1921", a serial number, and two manuscript signatures of the Bürgermeister and Gemeinderats-Vorsitz, with the printer's imprint "GEBR. PARCUS MÜNCHEN" at foot.

Reverse description Yellow ground reverse enclosed by a dark olive-green border of repeating ornamental motifs; the central colour vignette presents a panoramic view of the "Dachschieferbruch Koselstein" slate quarry near Wurzbach, with rocky outcrops, timber headframes, workers, and a narrow-gauge railway wagon rendered in detailed illustrative style. A red octagonal emblem with crossed miners' picks in white is placed at top centre, flanked by two text cartouches in the upper corners carrying verse couplets in German Gothic script extolling the local slate. Crossed-hammer vignettes and the denomination "50 Pfennig" occupy the left and right margins, while the bold Gothic inscription "Gutschein über Fünfzig Pfennig" runs across the full lower panel.
Reverse lettering Wurzbacher Schiefer graben wir hier aus,
Damit bedeckte man schon so manches Haus,
Er ist der beste, deckt sich auch sparsam ein,
D'rum, wer ihn braucht, bestelle ihn bei "Koselstein".
