| Obverse description | The obverse is printed in blue, red, and yellow on a light ground, with a bold vignette at left of two marching soldiers in 18th-century Dessau uniforms with tall mitre caps, carrying halberds, set against a red-outlined townscape of Dessau in the background. The title 'Gutschein der Stadt Dessau' is rendered in Gothic blackletter script across the upper centre, with the denomination numeral '50' in red at upper right. Validity and redemption conditions are set out in Gothic script at centre right, followed by the issuing authority 'Der Magistrat' and a manuscript signature above the serial number and issue date at lower right. The denomination 'Fünfzig Pfennig' is repeated twice in large Gothic letters within a red-bordered panel along the lower edge. |

| Reverse description | The reverse carries a bold woodcut-style vignette in blue and red illustrating a scene from the Second Silesian War, with 18th-century soldiers and an officer at left observing a burning landscape at centre, while armed troops mass at right. The central scene is framed by a yellow-and-red geometric border with the text 'So leben wir' repeated vertically along both side margins in a diagonal stripe pattern. A red ribbon cartouche below the main vignette bears the inscription 'Zweiter schlesischer Krieg', with a further satirical verse inscribed beneath in Gothic script. The numeral '4' appears at lower right within the border. |
