| Obverse description | The central field carries a grey guilloche underprint within a black decorative border, with the municipal arms of Ahaus — a quartered shield in red and gold — at centre. The denomination '50 PF.' appears twice flanking the arms at lower centre, with 'FÜNFZIG PFENNIG' in bold letterpress below; the issuer title 'STADT AHAUS' is set at the top in large block capitals. Handwritten text panels to either side of the shield give the validity conditions and the issuing authority, dated '7. Juni 1921', with a manuscript signature of the Bürgermeister; the black side panels carry stylised geometric vignettes with '50' and 'Pf.' in gold script. |
