| Obverse description | The obverse is dominated by a central heraldic shield bearing a polychrome vignette of the collegiate church of Münstermaifeld flanked by towers surmounted with crosses, rendered in red and blue against a white field. A wide decorative scroll ribbon in the Gothic Blackletter style carries the denomination inscription "Fünfzig Pfennig" in bold red lettering across the centre, with the year "1921" split across the upper ribbon ends.
