| Opis awersu | The obverse is printed in red-orange on a guilloche underprint ground and carries a central vignette of a stylised fortified gateway with red brick battlements, from behind which a dark cloaked figure rises against radiating sunbeams rendered in yellow; a golden ornamental device with crossed staffs occupies the lower centre of the vignette. Flanking text panels carry the issuer's legal tender clause at left and the validity date and issuing authority at right, while a Bismarck quotation runs across the upper border panel and a biblical reference to Joshua 6:20 appears in the lower border. |

The denomination numeral '50' appears in black on red cartouches at the upper left and upper right corners, with stylised monogram devices in the lower corner cartouches. Jerichow II was one of two administrative districts carved out of the old Jerichow region in the Prussian province of Saxony — a bureaucratic subdivision that rarely appears in notgeld catalogues with any depth of coverage. This 50 Pfennig piece was issued during the acute small-change shortage of 1921, when municipal and district authorities across Germany were still plugging the gaps left by wartime coin hoarding and postwar metal scarcity, well before the hyperinflationary collapse that would make such efforts pointless within two years.
