The central motif is the municipal coat of arms of Gottesberg set within a shaped shield, displaying a miner's hand holding crossed hammers over a blue mound, symbolising the city's mining heritage. Flanking vignettes on either side depict industrial mining pit-head structures and factory chimneys, while a decorative ribbon banner below the shield carries the inscription in blackletter script.
