Reverse description Printed in black on a pale green-grey ground, the reverse is dominated by a scenic vignette occupying the upper field, in which the ruins of Dagstuhl Castle as they appeared circa 1800 are rendered with a tall tower remnant rising on a wooded hilltop against a clouded sky. The denomination numeral '50' appears at the upper left and upper right corners, while a caption below the vignette reads 'Ruine Dagstuhl um 1800.' and a decorative scroll cartouche at the foot carries a two-line poetic inscription in gothic script. The printer's imprint 'SCHAAR & DATHE TRIER' is set in small type at the very bottom margin.
