| Obverse description | The obverse is framed by a decorative border of ivy vines and oak foliage rendered in fine letterpress. At the top, the denomination '50 Pfg. Gutschein der Stadt Kahla S.A.' is set in bold blackletter script, below which a dedicatory inscription reads 'Der Stadt Kahla, S.A. gewidmet.' The central field carries a facsimile script reproduction of a patriotic quotation attributed to von Hindenburg, with a red six-digit serial number printed in the upper right; the issue date 'Ausgabe 15. Sept. 1921' and expiry 'Verfall 31. Dez. 1921' appear at the lower left and right respectively, flanking the facsimile signatures of the Bürgermeister and Stadtrat. |
