Obverse description The obverse is printed in blue, black, and yellow on grey paper, centered on a large heraldic shield bearing a rearing white horse above the inscription ROSSBACH / KREIS / QUERFURT and a pair of crossed keys at the base. To the left, a mining vignette shows crossed hammers over a wreath with industrial emblems against a yellow radiant underprint; to the right, agricultural implements — a scythe, rake, and sheaf of grain — appear against a matching underprint. The denomination 50 Pf. is stated in bold type at both left and right, flanking the central shield, with the heading NOTGELD DER GEMEINDE ROSSBACH and district attribution KREIS / QUERFURT across the top. Below left, a validity clause in German reads GÜLTIG BIS 1 MONAT NACH UNGÜLTIGKEITSERKLÄRUNG IM KREISBLATT, while a manuscript signature of the Gemeindevorsteher appears at lower right.

Reverse description The reverse is printed in full colour on a grey ground framed by an ornate diamond-pattern border in orange and gold. The central vignette presents a colour lithograph of the Rossbach Siegesdenkmal — a monumental brick memorial erected in 1860 by Friedrich Wilhelm IV — its recessed relief panel showing a mounted Prussian officer triumphing over fallen enemies, with a Prussian eagle plaque above. Trees and architectural surroundings complete the scene. The caption SIEGESDENKMAL. appears at the upper left, and a three-line commemorative inscription in German runs across the lower panel of the note.
