正面描述 The obverse carries a dramatic nocturnal vignette of a tall medieval tower or castle ruin set against a luminous full moon, rendered in a dark blue and teal woodcut-style multicolour print. The denomination numeral "50" appears in the lower right corner overlaid on the town arms of Wettin, accompanied by an orange panel at the base bearing the issuer name and validity inscription in Gothic blackletter script. The entire composition is framed by a border of continuous Gothic text running along all four margins.

备注

Wettin an der Saale is a small town in Saxony-Anhalt, and like thousands of German municipalities in 1921, its Magistrat issued small-denomination Notgeld to compensate for the catastrophic shortage of official coinage — a shortage driven not by wartime disruption alone but by the postwar hoarding of metal and the collapse of public confidence in central monetary authority. The 50 Pfennig denomination was among the most common targets for local issue precisely because it was the most acutely missing from everyday transactions.

Wettin's notes from this period are typical of the later "Serienscheine" wave — printed in modest quantities for local use rather than as the collector-oriented decorative series that many larger towns were producing simultaneously.
