Obverse description The obverse carries a dramatic nocturnal vignette of a tall medieval tower or castle ruin set against a luminous full moon, rendered in a dark blue and teal woodcut-style multicolour print. The denomination numeral "50" appears in the lower right corner overlaid on the town arms of Wettin, accompanied by an orange panel at the base bearing the issuer name and validity inscription in Gothic blackletter script. The entire composition is framed by a border of continuous Gothic text running along all four margins.
