Obverse description Printed in red and dark brown on cream paper, the obverse carries the denomination numeral '50' in large red figures at upper left and right, with the Low German legend 'GODSCHIEN' in a decorative cartouche at the top centre and the date '19 ÖVER 21' below it. A bold central oval vignette bears the inscription 'FÖFTI PENN' over a guilloche underprint, flanked by two text panels in Low German (North Frisian dialect) detailing the validity conditions and redemption instructions, with the city arms of Bredstedt — a diamond-shaped shield with a neoclassical building — at centre below. The issuing authority 'DE STADT BREDSTEDT' is stated at the foot alongside two manuscript signatures above the printed line 'DAT STADTKOLLEGIUM', with the printer's imprint 'GEBH. & KUNZE FLENSBURG' at lower left and the designers' credit 'ENTW.: INGWER PAULSEN U. HANS PHILIPP' at lower right.

Reverse description The reverse is printed in red, olive-green, and black on the same cream stock, with the denomination '50' in bold red numerals at upper left and right flanking the Low German inscription 'FÖFTI PENN' in large black block lettering across the top. The central field is occupied by a finely detailed letterpress vignette of the old parish church of Bredstedt (St. Marien), a red-brick Gothic structure with a distinctive steeple, set amid trees and greenery rendered in olive tones. Below the vignette the caption 'UNS · OLE · KARK' ('Our Old Church' in Low German/North Frisian) is printed in a clean serif typeface.
