| Obverse description | The central vignette, set within a circular cartouche against an olive-green underprint, reproduces a historical engraved panoramic view of Dornburg Castle as it appeared circa 1600, captioned "Dornburg 1600." Flanking the central cartouche are two side panels in grey-blue: the left bears the denomination "50 Pfennig" in bold yellow Gothic lettering above a yellow heraldic shield with a pilgrim figure, and the inscription "Gültig bis 3 Monate nach Aufruf"; the right repeats the denomination above the Saxon coat of arms and carries the issuing authority "Dornburg a/S Bürgermeister" with a facsimile signature dated 1/9.21. Along the lower margin, a portal inscription from the Goethe-Schloss is letterpress-printed in Gothic script, and the printer's imprint "Druck: Johannes Arndt · Jena" appears at the base. |
