| Obverse description | The Nordhausen municipal coat of arms, an ornate heraldic shield charged with an eagle and surmounted by an elaborate crested helm with foliate mantling, is centred against a light blue shield ground. Flanking the arms are two oval cartouches on a decorative Art Nouveau underprint: the left cartouche contains the redemption clause text, the right the issuance date and two manuscript signatures of Der Magistrat. The denomination '50 Pfg.' appears in bold Gothic script at the upper left and upper right corners, with 'Gutschein' and a serial number printed along the lower margin. |
