正面铭文 Stadt Zell i/W
Fünfzig Pfennig
Zell, 1. Okt. 1921
Gemeindergt. i.W.
Gültig bis 1. Monat nach Aufruf in der Oberländer Tagespost
背面描述 The reverse is printed in black, ochre-yellow, and teal-green on cream paper. The central vignette presents a rural landscape scene in an illustrative pen-and-ink style, rendered over a yellow ground: a thatched farmhouse set among bare-branched and leafy trees, with a rustic fence and open countryside in the foreground. Flanking the central panel on both sides are vertical decorative borders in teal and gold comprising stylised foliate and seed motifs. The denomination numeral "50" appears in yellow within teal diamond cartouches at the upper left and upper right corners, while the issuer name "Stadt Zell i.W." is inscribed in large Gothic script on a dark horizontal band at the foot.

备注

Zell im Wiesental is a small textile-manufacturing town in the Black Forest, and this 50 Pfennig Notgeld was issued during the acute small-change shortage that paralyzed everyday commerce across Germany in the early 1920s — a crisis driven less by hyperinflation, which was still building, than by the hoarding of metal coinage and the Reichsbank's inability to keep low denominations in circulation. Hundreds of German municipalities printed their own emergency issues during this window, and Zell's 1921 series is typical of the short-lived municipal Kleingeldscheine that flooded the market before the great inflation made small-denomination paper effectively worthless within two years.
