| Opmerkingen |
Oberlind is a small village in the Sonneberg district, and its decision to issue its own emergency currency in 1921 places it squarely in the wave of municipal Notgeld that swept through Germany as postwar inflation eroded the purchasing power of official coinage. Thousands of German parishes, towns, and cooperatives did the same — but the sheer volume of that production makes the watermarked paper here worth noting. Watermark security on a village-level issue from a local printer like August Eichhorn was not universal; many comparable issues used plain stock.
