Obverse description The note is printed in brown and olive tones on cream paper, with a decorative serrated border framing the entire composition. A central octagonal vignette bears the city seal of Mücheln, encircled by the legend 'SIGIL. DER STADT. MUCHILL', and presents a full-length figure of Saint Jacobus (St. James the Apostle) in pilgrim's robes, holding a staff in his left hand and a bowl in his right, with a halo indicated by dotted lines above his head and the date '1642' flanking him. The denomination '50 PFENNIG' appears in bold letterpress in panels to the left and right of the central vignette, with the issue date 'AUSGEGEBEN AM 1. JULI 1921' at lower left and the issuing authority 'DER MAGISTRAT' with a manuscript signature at lower right.
