Goldberg is a small Mecklenburg town that, like hundreds of German municipalities in the early 1920s, resorted to printing its own emergency money as the Reichsbank struggled to keep pace with postwar inflation and coin shortages. What makes this particular note marginally notable is that it was printed locally — the Paul Biedermann'sche Ratsbuchdruckerei was the town's own council print shop, giving the note an unusually tight connection between issuer and producer that most Notgeld lacks.
The Grabowski reference G27.3b places it within a documented sub-variant, suggesting at least minor typographic or color differentiation from sibling issues in the same series.
