| 表面の説明 | Notgeld issued on cream-toned paper with a decorative letterpress border of interlaced geometric and foliate ornaments in brown and ochre. The denomination 'Fünfzig Pfennig' is set in large Gothic blackletter script across the upper portion, flanked on either side by ornamental vignettes enclosing hourglass motifs. A central oval cartouche carries the redemption pledge text, dated Schmalkalden, 1 July 1921, with a manuscript signature of the Kreisausschuss chairman to the lower right and a serial number to the lower left; the printer's credit 'Ges. b. Kurt Jäckel · Druck von · Feodor Wilisch Schmalkalden' runs along the bottom margin. |

| 裏面の説明 | The reverse is printed in blue, black, and ochre with bold decorative guilloche panels at left and right, each enclosing the denomination numeral '50' and the abbreviation 'Pfg' respectively within circular frames. The central field presents a half-length portrait vignette of Philipp von Hessen (Philip of Hesse) in Renaissance dress and feathered cap, rendered in a woodcut-style engraving against a solid blue ground, with the sitter's name inscribed vertically on either side of the portrait. The issuer's name runs as a heading across the top and the legend referencing the Schmalkaldic League with its dates borders the bottom. |
