Obverse description Light blue-grey note with a stark typographic layout enclosed within a double-rule border. The issuer name 'Stadt Oldenburg i.H.' is set in large block lettering across the top, below which a salmon-orange underprint panel carries the denomination '50 Pfennig 50' in bold letterpress. Three successive text bands state the note's validity clause and redeemability by the Stadtkasse, with the issuance place and date 'Oldenburg in Holstein, 1 April 1921' followed by the manuscript signature of Der Magistrat at the foot.

Reverse description Blue-ground vignette occupying the upper three-quarters of the note, executed in a hand-drawn illustrative style signed 'W. Johannsen 21', showing the Landratsamt (district office) building in Oldenburg in Holstein set behind a row of bare-branched trees in a wintry street scene rendered in black line work with salmon-orange colour wash on the architecture. The denomination numerals '50' appear in the upper corners, and a two-line Low German verse in bold Gothic type runs across the lower panel within the border.
