An oval vignette at centre depicts a Harz mountain landscape with a cluster of conifers, a small chapel and a mining or forestry building nestled among the trees, beneath an open sky with distant ridgelines; the oval is bordered by a dotted rule with a gold fillet and surmounted by a pointed Gothic arch motif. Below the oval, a scrollwork ribbon cartouche carries the inscription 'Waldkater' in script.
