| Reverse description | The reverse is printed in black and green on a cream ground. An oval vignette at centre depicts a Harz mountain landscape with a cluster of conifers, a small chapel and a mining or forestry building nestled among the trees, beneath an open sky with distant ridgelines; the oval is bordered by a dotted rule with a gold fillet and surmounted by a pointed Gothic arch motif. Below the oval, a scrollwork ribbon cartouche carries the inscription 'Waldkater' in script. The denomination numeral '50' appears in large green figures at the upper left and upper right corners within ruled boxes, and the dark field surrounding the central oval is filled with stylised Art Nouveau leaf ornament. |
