| Description du revers | The reverse is printed in brown, red, and ochre tones. The upper portion carries a sweeping panoramic vignette of the medieval fortress Löwenborch as it appeared in the 13th century, with the castle complex atop dramatic cliffs above the Elbe, sailing vessels below, and a tower at lower centre. To the lower left, a cartouche in Low German dialect verse is enclosed within an ornamental scrollwork border. The denomination '50 Pf' is printed in large red and brown numerals at upper right, with '1181' and 'a/s. Elbe' flanking the heading; the artist's signature 'H. Elvers' appears at lower right within the vignette. |
