Treuenbrietzen is a small Brandenburg town whose notgeld program was modest even by 1921 standards. This 50 Pfennig note was printed by J. Adolf Schwarz in Lindenberg im Allgäu — a Bavarian print shop in the Allgäu region that handled notgeld commissions for municipalities well outside its immediate geography, a common arrangement during the peak years of the small-denomination paper shortage.
The designer credit to Heinz Schiestr is the one detail worth flagging: individual designer attributions on notgeld are relatively uncommon and suggest the town commissioned original artwork rather than pulling from a stock template catalog.
