| 表面の説明 | Central vignette of the Ballenstedt Town Hall (Das Rathaus), a multi-storey Baroque civic building with a prominent clock tower, flanked by large deciduous trees and small figures in the foreground, rendered in a coloured lithographic style. The denomination legend "Gutschein über 50 Pfennig" is set in Gothic script across the upper margin, while the town name "BALLENSTEDT IM HARZ" appears in bold block letters within a decorative banner at the foot of the note. The caption "Das Rathaus" is inscribed in small text at lower right of the vignette, and the printer's imprint "Louis Koch, Halberstadt" appears below the lower border. |

Ballenstedt was a small Anhalt residence town — seat of the Anhalt ducal house before unification — and its 1921 Notgeld issue reflects the broader municipal scramble to fill the fractional currency vacuum left by coin hoarding and metal shortages after the war. Louis Koch of Halberstadt handled a substantial volume of regional Notgeld printing during this period, supplying dozens of municipalities across the Harz and Bode river districts.
The DeNG reference suffix ".3-13/24" indicates this is the third design variant in the Ballenstedt run, a distinction that matters to specialists assembling complete municipal sets.
