| Obverse description | Cream-toned Notgeld with a central vignette of Johann von Seyssen rendered in a woodcut-style intaglio print, the figure wearing a red turban and dark robes and holding a scroll bearing a Roman numeral date. Flanking text panels in Gothic blackletter script recount the founding of the city of Allenstein through the granting of the Handfeste on 31 October 1353. The denomination 'Fünfzig Pfennig' is inscribed in bold red letters at the upper corners, with the issuer legend 'Gutschein der Stadt Allenstein' along the lower margin and the printer's imprint 'Flemming-Wiskott A.-G. Glogau' below the border. |
